It’s the buying season again and the Ideas in Furniture team is on its way to imm Cologne this weekend for the world’s largest furniture and interior design fair.
This is an important time for us as it gives us the chance to find out which trends will dominate in the months ahead (which according to the event preview will be “Emotional Austerity”, “Surprising Empathy”, “Re-Balancing” and “Transforming Perspectives”) and decide what will work best for our customers.
We’ll be at the show for a few days, so we’ll find out as much as we can when we’re there and update you when we get back...or keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook!
There’ll be more than 1,000 exhibitors in Cologne from over 50 countries, so there’ll be plenty of great furniture and interiors to see and talk about!
After Cologne, it’s straight to the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday for the Interiors 2011 exhibition, which is the highlight of the UK furniture industry’s calendar. The event features the biggest names in furniture and interiors as well as international style leaders in furniture design and manufacture, lighting, flooring, soft furnishings and interiors, so it’s a brilliant opportunity for us to see what’s going to be hot in 2011 and to find the pieces that are a little bit more special than the average furniture store stock.
It’s hard work, and a lot of travelling, but we love it and we know you’ll love it too when we bring the best ideas and pieces back to our Lisburn Road store in 2011!
